Having a budget is one thing. Finding someone with it is another. Plenty of budget holders get stuck for months on the same question: who is actually going to do this, and how do I arrange it without suddenly becoming an employer? We have an answer to that.
What a PAB can pay for
The personal assistance budget (PAB) is a budget from the VAPH to organise assistance for your child, at home or at school. You decide who provides that assistance. The VAPH sets out what you may spend it on. Among other things:
- help with physical tasks and daily activities,
- transport and accompaniment,
- childcare, activities and educational support tailored to your child.
What it may not cover: actual medical or paramedical treatment, work on your home, teaching. And: the assistance has to be for your child. Not the household of the whole family. That is exactly where our students fit.
How to pay us with your PAB
For an organisation like Maurice & Nora, you use the agreement with a natural or legal person. That is the straightforward route:
- You request help. We look for a screened student who suits your child: matched on proximity, character and interests. A free introductory meeting beforehand is also possible.
- You sign one agreement with us. With our company number, the hours per week, the hourly rate and the tasks.
- You register that agreement on mijnvaph.be. Do it in good time: costs incurred before registration are not always reimbursed.
- We invoice, you pay from your budget account and submit the costs to the VAPH. The difference with hiring a student yourself: an employment contract makes you the employer, with payroll administration, social security contributions and a payroll office on top. An agreement with us doesn't. We arrange the student, the insurance and the follow-up. You get an invoice.
